My name is Shannon Duggan, and I am the owner of Four Paws Only, a grooming shop located in Dracut MA. I was a long-time employee of 20 years before I took over ownership 8 years ago, so I have been working as a groomer at Four Paws Only for the last 28 years! Prior to that, my grooming career started at the age of 13 as a bather, and I apprenticed under a groomer who also bred Standard Poodles. She taught me my basic grooming skills. I also worked under her Kennel prefix LYnMar Kennel’s grooming and showing her standard poodles and competed in junior showmanship. In my early years as a groomer, I did competition grooming, and I showed my own standard poodles and Co-owned a miniature poodle whose show career took him to Westminster kennel club in 1997.
We are a fear-free facility. I am fear-free certified in grooming as well as dog daycare. I am also A. K. C. SAFE certified. I earned my CCE this year in Pet Cosmetology. I am currently working on becoming A Certified Pet Aesthetician within the ISB program and the whole pet grooming Academy, and plan to finish that by spring 2023. The conclusion is a trip to AZ to attend a 4-day workshop and wet lab under Dr. Cliff Faver DVM, who represents ISB in the USA.
I am currently enrolled in the Whole Pet Grooming Academy and working towards my Master Pet Aesthetician Diploma, Therapeutic Pet Aesthetician Diploma, as well as my Master of Holistic Arts Diploma and Master of Canine Science Diploma.
I have dabbled in many dog sports, including agility and dock diving, with my own dogs. I have bred golden retrievers under the prefix Zengoldens. I share my home with my three dogs, Trelawney, Capone, and Bailey, my two cats, Azul and Bleu, and my seven-year-old daughter, Tallulah. I enjoy my career, and I love what I do! My hope and dream are that I can continue doing so into retirement. I am very interested
in therapeutics for pets, and that is where I hope to lead my practice these next few years.
